My hair goal length is waist length
How long I Have Been Transitioning:
For 11 months and have decided to do the big chop in August 2016
What Prompted Me to Transition?:
A friend asked me to fix her hair but when she came I realized she was natural so we got talking. My mum saw what I did and she asked for the same style ( by the way, I did Bantu knots for them) and in the process I realized she was also natural. I blatantly said ” if you can be natural, so can I?” And that was it. Been transitioning since that day
Hmmmm….It hasn’t been easy…and I mean it when I say it hasn’t been easy. Transitioning is very difficult, you need to have patience. But at a point I was totally frustrated because curls weren’t forming right, cudnt do wash and go and cudnt blend my leave out with my wigs ( it was so obvious you were wearing a wig, which is very annoying…Lol)…the only thing that was working right was my puff and oh yes the breakage was disheartening. A friend even saw the length of my hair and worriedly asked what happened to all my hair. That statement just broke my heart. But I have come to understand that it’s all patience and you gotta love your hair. Will definitely get there…one day
I don’t really have favorite vendors but the products I love using are coconut oil ( keeps my hair soft), Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Olive oil (for hot oil treatment), Shea butter (my favorite moisturizer) and my eco styler gel ( I so love this gel). Occasionally I try flaxseed gel and okra gel
My hair inspirations have been my sister, Josephine…she just has a way of getting me out of any bad mood. Am also encouraged by a few YouTubers especially Naptural85, the chicNatural, My Natural Sisters, Freedom Styles, Cynthykay obi and the brilliant beauty ….love love their channels.
