    My Verdict:

I have read many mixed reviews on this hair brush and as a result was hesitant to try it. I am sure glad I did however. I have natural 4b/4c hair and this brush was able to straighten my hair pretty easily. To prep my hair I washed and blow dried it using the tension blow out method as seen in this video.  After I was done blow drying my hair, I sectioned my hair off into four sections. Within those four sections I combed through to make sure there were no tangles prior to using the straightener brush.

While using the straightener brush I sectioned my hair into two inch sections and ran the brush through. I did a total of three passes on each section to receive the results pictured below. Some positives that I love about the brush is that while it does straighten my natural hair it does not get it bone straight which is great because there is still body to my hair. Other positives include the auto-shut off after an hour’s time and the temperature controApalus Hair Straightener Brush Results on 4b/4c Hairl which goes all the way up to 450 degrees (I only used 390 degrees for my hair). If I could change one thing about  this product it would be for it to have a lock button for the temperature setting. The temperature controls are located on the side of the brush and as you straighten your hair you may accidentally cause the temperature to go up, down, or turn off the appliance all together.

Other than that, I really love this product as it reduces the time it takes to straighten my  natural hair (took about 25 minutes to complete my whole head). It usually takes me about an hour and a half to two hours. I would like to point out that with any brush that you use for your hair, that you will see shed hair come out as it is still removing tangles or shed hair. Do not be alarmed when this happens, this is normal.  I would recommend this product to fellow naturals as well as other ladies who are looking to straighten their hair in less time it takes to use a flat iron.

I’m so glad that I had the chance to read this. Earlier today I came across an add for this straightener brush and my first thought was “could this actually work for black hair”? Our hair is so much more complex so to find styling products that cooperate is a miracle within itself.
After seeing this I won’t be hesitant to try it out. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your honest review! As a fellow 4c girl, I was definitely skeptical of this brush when I first heard about it. After reading about your success with it, I think I’ll take the plunge and purchase one.

Does it straighten the roots well. I did the big chop and I’m still growing it out. I would luv a little pixie do while I’m in this growth stage.
